Clinton Scandals

  • Trump doesn't pay taxes:

FALSE: Trump has paid his taxes, however, there were two years in the 1970s where he did in fact pay NOTHING

During the election, Trump refused to release his tax returns and Clinton accused him of not paying his federal income taxes saying, "The only two (Donald Trump tax returns) we have show that he hasn't paid a penny in taxes."

Public record shows that there were 2 years where he did not pay federal income taxes. As only a few of his tax returns have been made public record, it is difficult to determine whether or not he has paid his taxes each year, but Clinton could have confused voters by making this statement.

  • Clinton's emails had no classified information:

FALSE: Clinton have an email account that was not a government email, so her emails as Secretary of State were sent on a private, personal server.

Clinton's campaign stated that none of the emails in question contained classified information.

However, there was classified information on three of the emails that were sent, and the FBI felt that she was careless in her handling of the information.

  • Trump "always" pays his bills promptly

FALSE: USA Today investigated 60 lawsuits against Trump that were filed because people feel that he did not pay them for services or products. â€‹

There were even lawsuits of this kind from law firms that had represented Trump in this kind of lawsuit that he went on not to pay.

Trump has said that if he is not happy with the job they did, then he did not pay what they were told they would be paid, "Let’s say that they do a job that’s not good, or a job that they didn’t finish, or a job that was way late. I’ll deduct from their contract, absolutely," Trump told USA Today. "That’s what the country should be doing."

  • Benghazi:

TRUE: Clinton was said to have deleted thousands of emails that contained information about Benghazi.

In 2014 during the Benghazi trial, her lawyers presented 30,000 emails to the court and stated that over 30,000 more emails had been deleted because they were about "personal matters" and she was not able to produce these emails.
